The most effective way to to make a change is to tailor your plan to fit who you are or to your lifestyle. Don't plan through the eyes of anyone other than yourself. That means don't develop a workout or diet based on what celebrities are doing, or what you think Coach Ulmer may want you to do, make choices that fit your lifestyle and that you are comfortable with. Diet and workout plans are unsustainable if they don't fit who you are. Imagine trying to incorporate Zumba dancing as an aerobic exercise into your plan if you hate dancing. Throughout your journey to developing a plan that's right for you as well as completing other aspects of the project it would be wise to have some sort of note taking mechanism to keep your thoughts and research organized. Students will have two weeks to complete this WebQuest and develop their presentation.
Step #1 Research the importance of physical activity, healthy diet, and obesity rates related to adolescents and adults. Research how personal health can either positively or negatively affect ones life. Take the information you deem to be important and communicate it through your presentation. Step #2 Research and develop a diet based on your individual goals. Include calories, fat, carbs, and protein needed. Develop two 5 day diet plan consisting of 3-4 meals with snacks. One diet plan will consist of maintaining your current weight, and one will consist of a diet to loose 5 lbs. Once you develop your diet transfer it to your PPT. Step #3 Research and develop a 5 day workout plan that incorporates cardio and weight training. Once you develop you plan transfer it over to your PPT. Step #4 Research and determine how much water you need as well as how important it is for the body to function effectively. Once you have this information transfer it to the PPT. Step #5 Determine what resources you are going to use to put your new plan into action and how this plan can carry over into adulthood. Research walking trails nearby, parks, gyms, YMCA's, whole food markets, school resources (weight room, track), Adult/Youth Recreation Leagues, College Intramurals, etc... This Resource link will help you in completing your Task. The Resource tab is also located under the Process Tab in the navigation bar to the left. |
